At morning briefing principal race officer Vladimir Komel notified that fifth and sixth races will be little bigger. Weather conditions will let to do it without detriment to format . At 16 o`clock we had finish of second race. First start was made two times because of falstart. At second time, sailors started without it. Igor Goyhberg(RUS98, Zenith) and Boris Xabarov(RUS48, Vist) sailed first line before signal. They have to started again, but Boris Xabarov didn’t do it, so this race for them is “going out”. Why today’s results are remarkable? At first, because we can, who will be champion of Russia 2014. Anatoly Loginov (RUS27) won fifth race and came second in sixth, he become unattainable for opponents, last race doesn`t solve anything for him. Vasily Senatorov (RUS34) and Dmitry Samohin (RUS27) will fight for second place, only 2 points separate them. Далее… →

Vasily Senatorov: “People, who really love Dragon sail it”

IMG_9646

– Protest Committee “complain“ that they don’t have work on shore, nobody wants to pass protests. You wanted protest after fourth race, but didn’t do it.. Why?

– Situation was very ambiguous, we think that we are right, opponents – that they. Dragon is very gentleman class, so we decided not to pass a protest.

– Let’s talk about Russian Dragon Association. Can you tell about about t state of class and of course about the prospects…

– Dragon`s peak mass was in 2009-2010. Now, only who real love Dragon sail it. Other changed class. For example, class “SB20” is very popular now. World championship will hold in St. Petersburg at September. We will see some Dragon sailors in this class, because it`s faster and progressive. Also, people come at cruising races. I think it all depends of Russian economic system. I think that its wave-like process: We had old school sailors, so we need to wait two or three years and everything will return to normal. Далее… →

Viktor Fogelson: about sails, winds and songs

IMG_6608

– You had injury, and still are limping, but take part at the regatta…

– If wind will be 20 knots – I wouldn’t risk. My injury is old, from football. I just need to had an operation.

– Last year, after regatta “Rolex Middle Sea Race” you said that every man should sail in open sea. What about offshore regattas?

-Of course. It`s special races, you are sailing for some days and suddenly weather changes, you try to adapt to circumstances. We shouldn’t compare regattas at open sea and here. When you sail here, everything in your arms: rudder, ropes. This competition has a little distance (это очное соревнование на небольшой дистанции – в этом есть свой драйв) And different story is when distance between you and opponent is measured by miles and dozens of miles, you don`t know where is wind it’s a different story. Everybody there has its work and is engaged in it. In fact, you are living at yacht. So we shouldn’t compare it. Далее… →
