Last whistle from judicial vessel sounded; competitions are ended, results of Championship Russian Open 2014 are known. Seventh, finishing race took place without participation of Anatoly Loginov who preferred to remain ashore. The main fight was expected between teams of Dmitry Samokhin (RUS27) and Vasily Senatorov (RUS34). However, we can’t see it Vasily Senatorov was second at finishing line, and “Melody Nelson” was only seventh. Igor Goihberg (RUS98) could fight for bronze, but fifth place at race was very little for this. He has 4th place.
Leonid Klepikov’s (RUS81) won seventh race. For this team it was first”in prizes”. Dmitry Vokhmintsev’s team (RUS6) took third place in this race.
Yulia Grigorieva (RUS18):
Today we should have justified for misses at previous days.We had the last chance! At championshipall teams have different levels of preparation. Our crew is amateur. Today with mewas my old friend,we know each other from school. We were grown up by same trainers therefore we understand each other! Today we successfully catch wind. Sailing has remarkable property, when you are in sea, all cares remain ashore. It is some kind of meditation!
Leonid Klepikov (RUS81):
Today was difficult day! Wind was unstable. Especially hard was last piece of a distance: we were first, but our rivals overhauled us. We saw that they have more wind, than we, but we couldn’t affect at situation any more. It was moment when we passed on a stern of IgorGoykhberg’s boat (RUS 98). We thought that loose this race but we caught wind, and came off from our rivals. As a result wefinished first! Of course, it is pleasant to be a winner. And this victory is very important for our crew .First time for the last five years we took prize in race!
