Russian drinking customs are old. And in spite of all the stereotypes, it isn’t vodka that was the first. Like many other nations, Russians discovered the technology of making alcohol drinks from cereal: it was Polugar, the beverage made of distilled rye.

Private distillery “Rodionov and his sons” first revived the Russian distilling tradition and reconstructed the taste of the legendary Russian bread wine Polugar and other traditional distillates that existed from the XVI century, the production of which in the Russian Empire stopped after the introduction of the State monopoly in 1895. Now everyone can taste this flavored beverage and join the Russian drinking tradition.
