The leading Russian language edition devoted to yachts, sailing, travel and sport has become sponsor and the main media partner of the Russian Dragon Open and Gazprom European Championship.
The publication of YACHT Russia started in 2008 under a license of the Die Yacht German magazine. Die Yacht itself is the key opinion sailing magazine in Europe. The magazine was founded in Germany in 1904 and is issued bi-weekly in over 100,000 copies.
Over the eight years of its existence not only has YACHT Russia brought the most valuable articles of the German edition to the attention of its Russian readers but also managed to develop a format satisfying the requirements of the national audience. Besides translations, The YACHT Russia magazine contains materials of Russian authors and photographers, covering sailing life in Russia.
It is worth noting that, taking an important niche in the life of Russian sailing, the Yacht Russia magazine has gone far beyond publishing. In particular, for several years YACHT Russia together with the Russian Sailing Federation holds an annual national award “Yachtsman of the Year”. The purpose of this event is the celebration of the distinguished and outstanding sportsmen, coaches, sailing veterans, as well as journalists, travelers and all those who made sailing a way of life.
Recently in Sochi the YACHT Russia sailing academy was opened. The fleet of the Academy consists of 10 Elan 210 yachts, which is the best option for developing sailing skills.
YACHT Russia magazine actively supports the development of sailing. It’s not confined to announcements and reports about regattas or analysis of Olympic sport, but also the magazine supports many major sporting events in the country. Among these a special place is taken by Russian Dragon Open and the Gazprom Dragon European Championship – the largest sailing event in Russia.
This year, the magazine has entered international stage. YACHT Russia became the exclusive partner of the Yacht Racing Forum, as well as the world’s leading sailing photo contest – Sailing Photo Awards.
